The khyber pass is located in the sulaiman range, the bolan pass is located in toba kakar range. What is the importance of these two passes?

Bolan Pass:

  • The Bolan Pass is located in the Toba Kakar Range in the Balochistan province of West Pakistan.
  • Due to its strategic location, it was used by many invaders, traders and nomadic tribes to travel to South Asia.
  • Furthermore, it connected Quetta with Sibi and Jacobabad.

Khyber Pass:

  • The Khyber Pass is located in Northwest Pakistan, on the Afghanistan border.
  • It was an important section of the Silk Route, and was used by many traders to travel between the Indian subcontinent and Central Asia.  
  • It was also controlled by many armies as a military and strategic choke point
