An indirect/reported speech is speech being told to a third person. Modifications are made according to the tense form and pronouns.

The lady said ,"I have not been able to finish my work this evening"

Reported/Indirect form: The lady said that she hasn't been able to finish her work that evening.

Here the direct sentence is in Present Perfect Continuous form and will change into Past Perfect Continuous. Also, modifications regarding the pronouns and prepositions should be made.

Hope it helps :)
