According to the given problem,

If a and b are two pisitive numbers

a = 75, b = ?

LCM = 4875

HCF = 1 [ since a and b are coprime ]

We know that ,

a × b = HCF × LCM

b = ( HCF × LCM ) / a

b = ( 1 ×4875 ) / 75

b = 65

Therefore ,

The other number is 61.

Given:

Correct details are:

  • LCM of two co-prime numbers is 4575.
  • One number is 75.

To find:

  • Find the other number.

Solution:

Concept to be used:

LCM of two co-prime numbers (a,b)= a×b

Because numbers are co-prime, ie no common multiple exists before the number formed by a×b.

Step 1:

Let the numbers are a and b.

\bf a = 75 \\

and

\bf LCM(75,b) = 4575 \\

Step 2:

Find the other number.

a \times b = 4575 \\

 \implies \: 75 \times b = 4575 \\

 \implies \:b =  \frac{4575}{75}  \\

 \implies \:\bf b = 61 \\

Thus,

The other number is 61.
