let the length is x meter

let the breadth be y meter

according to question,

   x=2y...............................{1}

perimeter is 456

          2{ l+ b}=456

          2{x+y}=456

          2{2y+y}=456

           2×3y=456

             6y=456

y=76

hence the breadth is 76 meter

x=2y

x=2×76

x=152

hence the length is 152 meter

Answer :

Question Says that The length of a rectangular field is twice its breadth.

Let the Breadth of The Field be x

So, The length will be 2×x = 2x

Given Perimeter of the Rectangular field = 456 m

Now, As we know that The Perimeter of Rectangle = 2( Length + Breadth)

So we can say that

2( Length + Breadth) = 456m

=> 2( 2x + x) = 456

=> 2 × 3x = 456

=> 3x = 456 ÷ 2

=> 3x = 228

=> x = 228 ÷ 3

=> x = 76

Since x = 76

So, Breadth of the Rectangular field = 76m
and, Length of the Rectangular field = 2(76) = 152m

Verification ---

2( 76 + 152) = Given Perimeter

2 × 228 = 456

456 = 456

L.H.S = R.H.S

Therefore The value of Length (152m) and Breadth(76m) is Right.
