resistance = resistivity × length /area

resistivity =resistance ×area/length

                =3×0.5/0.2

                =7.5

Given,

  • The length of the wire = 0.2 m
  • The area of the wire = 0.5 m²
  • The resistance of the wire = 3Ω

To find,

  • We have to find resistivity.

Solution,

We can simply find the resistivity by the following formula:

        ρ = RA/l

where ρ is the resistivity of the wire, A is the area of the wire, and l is the length of the wire.

The length of the wire = 0.2 m

The area of the wire = 0.5 m²

The resistance of the wire = 3Ω

Resistivity of the wire = 3 * 0.5 /0.2

                                    = 7.5 Ωm

Hence, the length and area of a wire are given as 0.2m and 0.5m. The resistance of that wire is 3 ohm, then the resistivity of the wire is 7.5 Ωm.
