The length and breadth of a rectangular field are in the ratio 11:7.If it's perimeter is 32 m40 cm, find its dimensions.

solution.

Let length be l and bradth be b

=> 2(l+ b)= 3240 cm

=> l+ b= 1620cm

=> l= 1620 - b....(1)

Now, ATQ,

=> 1620 - b/ b= 11/7

=> 11340 - 7b= 11b

=> 11340= 18b

=> b= 630 cm= 6 m 30 cm

Now, putting the value of b in 1, we get.

=> l= 1620 - 630

=> l= 990 cm= 9m 90 cm

Hence, length= 9m 90 cm & breadth= 6m 30 cm
