Let assume
Length =7x
Breadth =3x
Area of rectangle = 7x*3x
=21x²
21x²=525
X²=25
X=5
Length =7x5 =35m
Breadth =3x5=15m
Perimeter of rectangle =2(l+b)
=2(35+15)=100m
1m fencing cost 75₹
100m =75*100=7500₹

Total cost of fencing the garden is Rs. 7500.

  • The length and breadth of the rectangle are in the ratio 7:3.
  • Let the common multiple be x.
  • Length of the rectangle = 7x and breadth of the rectangle = 3x.
  • Area of the field is 525 sq. m
  • Now the area = length × breadth

525 = 7x × 3x

525 = 21x²

x² = 25

x = 5

  • Now length = 35 m and breadth = 15 m
  • Cost of fencing is Rs 75 per m.
  • Now Cost of fencing the garden is perimeter × Cost
  • Perimeter of the garden = 2× (length + breadth)
  • Perimeter of the garden = 2× (35 + 15)
  • Perimeter of the garden = 100 m
  • Total cost of fencing = 100 × 75 = 7500 Rs.
