Let the Length be 2x and, Breadth be x.

↦ Perimeter = 2 × (Length + Breadth)

↦ 240 m = 2 × (2x + x)

  • Dividing both term by 2

↦ 120 m = (2x + x)

↦ 120 m = 3x

  • Dividing both term by 3

x = 40 m

DIMENSIONS OF OUTER GROUND :

↦ Length = 2x = 2(40) = 80 m

↦ Breadth = x = 40 m

DIMENSIONS OF INNER GROUND :

↦ Length = 80 - 2(2) = 80 - 4 = 76 m

↦ Breadth = 40 - 2(2) = 40 - 4 = 36 m
