The length and breadth of rectangular garden are in ratio 7:3. If area of the field is 525m.sq, then find cost of fencing it at Rs.75 per m.

Let the length be 7x and the breadth be 3x metres.
Area of the field
[tex]= l \times b \\ = 7x \times 3x \\ = 21 x^{2} \ m^{2} [/tex]
[tex]21 x^{2} =525 \\ x^{2} = \frac{525}{21} =25 \\ x= \sqrt{25} =5[/tex]
Length of field $= 7 \times 5 = 35 \ m$
Breadth $= 3 \times 5=15 \ m$
Perimeter of field (Length of fence)
$= 2(l+b) \\ = 2 (35+15) \\ = 2 \times 50 \\ = 100 \ m$
Cost of 1 m fence = Rs. 75
Cost of 100 m fence $= 100 \times 75=Rs. 7500$
