surrounding it from all the sides at the
rate of * 7.5 per metre. What is the
difference between the length and
breadth of the plot? [SSC CGL 2008]

Answer:

formula for the perimeter of a rectangle is 2(l + b)

➡ 2(l + b) = 220m

➡ 2(7x + 4x) = 220m

➡ 7x + 4x = 220/2

➡ 11x = 110m

➡ x = 110/11

➡ x = 10m

Answer:

Let lenght be 5x and breadth be 3x

Now Rs. 7.5 is for one metre

then 3000 Rs is for 40 metres

SO perimeter is 40 m = 16x

SO x=40/16

hence difference between the lengths is 5x-3x = 2x = 2* 40/16= 5 m your answer
