Required Answer :

The total cost of painting the bungalow = Rs. 3680

Explanation :

We are given :

  • Length of a bungalow = 8 m
  • Breadth of a bungalow = 6 m
  • Height of a bungalow = 7 m
  • Length of a door = 5 m
  • Breadth of a door = 4 m
  • Length of a window = 4 m
  • Breadth of a window = 1 m
  • Rate of painting four walls internally = Rs. 20

Need to find :

  • Cost of painting the bungalow

Solution :

Firstly, we will calculate the area of the four walls.

Formula to calculate the area of four walls :

  • Area of four walls = 2(l + b)h

where,

  • l = length
  • b = breadth
  • h = height

Substituting the given values :

→ Area of four walls = 2(8 + 6)7

→ Area of four walls = 2(14)7

→ Area of four walls = 196

The area of four walls = 196 m²

Now, we will calculate the area of the doors by using the formula of area of rectangle.

Formula to calculate the area of door :

  • Area of door = l × b

Substituting the given values :

→ Area of door = 5 × 4

→ Area of door = 12

The area of door = 12 m²

By using the formula of area of rectangle and multiplying by the number of windows, we will calculate the area of 2 window .

Formula to calculate the area of windows :

  • Area of windows = l × b

Substituting the given values :

→ Area of a window = 4 × 1

→ Area of a window = 4

Area of a window = 4 m²

But in the question we are given that there are 2 windows, so we will multiply the area of a window by 2.

→ Area of 2 windows = 2 × 4

→ Area of 2 windows = 8

The area of 2 windows = 8 m²

Now, we will subtract the area of door and 2 windows from the area of four walls.

→ Total area to be painted = Area of four walls - (Area of door + Area of 2 windows)

→ Total area to be painted = 196 - (4 + 8)

→ Total area to be painted = 196 - 12

→ Total area to be painted = 184

Therefore, the total area to be painted = 184 m²

Now, we can calculate the total cost of painting the bungalow :

→ Rate of painting the bungalow = Rs. 20

→ Total cost painting the bungalow = 184 × 20

→ Total cost painting the bungalow = 3680

Therefore, the total cost of painting the bungalow = Rs. 3680

Answer :-

  • Length = 8m
  • Breadth = 6m
  • Height = 7m
  • Length Of door = 5m
  • breadth of door = 4m
  • 2 windows length = 4m
  • 2 windows breadth = 1m
  • 4 walls to be painted internally with the rate of 20 sq.m

_____________________

  • Area of 4 walls = 2 (l+b) h

  • 2 (8+6) 7
  • 2 (14) 7
  • 196

Area = 196 m²

  • Area of door = L x B
  • 5 X 4
  • 20

Area = 20 m²

_______________________

  • Area of 2 windows = L x B
  • 8 X 1
  • 8

Area = 8 m²

  • Total area painted = area of walls - (area of door + area of windows)

  • 196 - (20+8)
  • 196 - (28)
  • 196-28
  • 168

area painted = 168 m²

Rate of painting bungalow = Rs 20

  • 168 x 20
  • 3360

Rs 3360

hope it helps
