height of the room = 3m

here we have to find the cost of whitewashing the walls and the ceiling of the room @ of rs 7.50 per m²

formula for finding the CSA and one base is 2h( l + b ) + lb

therefore area of the walls and the ceiling of the room is = 2 × 3 ( 5 + 4 ) + ( 5 × 4 )

= 6 (9) + 20

= 54 + 20

= 74m²

hence, total cost of whitewashing = 74 × 7.50

= rs 555
