Answer:

Total Area = 14.8 m²

Volume = 8.55 m³

Explanation:

Given

Length of the metal sheet L = 4.234 m

Significant figures in length measurement = 4

Breadth of the metal sheet B = 1.005

Significant figures in breadth measurement = 4

Thickness of the metal sheet H = 2.01

Significant figures in thickness measurement = 3

The total area of the metal sheet is given by

A=L\times B+B\times H+H\times L

\implies A=4.234\times 1.005+1.005\times 2.01+2.01\times 4.234

\implies A=4.25517+2.02005+8.51034

\implies A=14.78556

Since the least no. of significant figures are 3

Therefore the Area should also be upto 3 significant figures

Hence, Total Area = 14.8 m²

Volume of the metal sheet

V=L\times B\times H

\implies V=4.234\times 1.005\times 2.01

\implies V=8.5528917

Since the least no. of significant figures are 3

Therefore the Volume should also be upto 3 significant figures

Hence, Volume = 8.55 m³
