The length is 9m longer than breadth and perimeter is 54m

TO FINd

Find the breadth of rectangle

SOLUTIOn

**As we know that**

Area of rectangle = 2(length+breadth)

Perimeter of rectangle = 54 m

Let the breadth be x then length be x + 9

According to the given condition

→ 2[x+(x + 9)] = 54

→ 2(x + x + 9) = 54

→ 2(2x + 9) = 54

→ 4x + 18 = 54

→ 4x = 54 - 18

→ 4x = 36

→ x = 36/4

→ x = 9

Hence,

Breadth = x = 9m

Length = x + 9 = 9 + 9 = 18m

 {\huge {\underline {\tt {\red {Answer}}}}}

Given:

Length is 9m longer than breadth and perimeter is 54m

Find:

Find the breadth = ?

Solution:

Let breadth be x

And let length be × + 9m

Area of rectangle = 2 (l+b)

ATQ,

=2× ( x + 9 + x ) = 54

= 2(2x + 9) = 54

= 4x + 18 = 54

= 4x = 54 - 18

= 4x = 36

= x = 36/4

= x = 9

Breadth = 9
