Answer:

let the breadth be x

length=x+10

perimeter of the field=100m

perimeter of rectangular field=2(l+b)

100=2(x+10+x)

100÷2=2x+10

50=2x+10

50-10=2x

40=2x

40÷2=x

20=x

breadth=20m

length=20+10=30m

✫ Length = 30 m  ✫

✫  Breadth = 20 m  ✫

GIVEN:

  • The length of a field is 10 metre more than the breadth of the field.
  • The perimeter of the field is 100 m.

TO FIND:

  • What is the length and breadth of the field ?

SOLUTION:

Let the Breadth of the rectangular field be 'B' m

According to question:-

➟ Length = Breadth + 10

➟ L = B + 10 ....1)

To find the perimeter of the rectangle, we use the formula:-

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth)

According to question:-

\implies 100 = 2( B + 10 + B) [from 1)]

\implies 100 = 2(2B + 10)

\implies 100 = 4B + 20

\implies 100 20 = 4B

\implies 80 = 4B

\implies B = 80/4

\implies B = 20 m

❛ Breadth of the field = 20 m ❜

Length = Breadth + 10

Length = 20 + 10

Length = 30 m

❛ Hence, the Length of the field is 30 m ❜
