ANSWER

i . if breath is equal to x cm

then,

length is equal to x + 10 cm

ii. area = length × breadth

=} 144 = (x + 10) × x

then,

x^2 + 10x - 144 = 0

=} ×^2 + 18x - 8x - 144 = 0

=} x(x + 18) - 8(x - 18) = 0

=} (x + 18) ( x - 8 ) = 0

ii) Which number is to be added to x+10x to get a perfect square?

Sorry I don't know how to solve this one .

HOPE THE ABOVE MENTIONED SOLUTION BE HELPFUL.

Answer:

let try

Step-by-step explanation:

(ii) when x=8

then 12 is to be added to x to get a perfect square.

i.e.(8)+10(8)+12=8+80+12

=100 which is a perfect square

x= - 18 is neglected as sides of triangle cannot be negative.

hope it helps you.
