The length of a rectangle is 10cm more than the width and its area is 144 square centimetre.
What are the length and breadth ?

ATQ,

l * b = 144

x(x + 10) = 144

x^2 + 10x - 144 = 0

x = -18 or x = 8

Since breadth can't be negative.

Therefore we ignore -18.

So breadth = 8

Length = 8 + 10 = 18
