Answer:

  • Length of rectangle is 60 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that,

Length of rectangle is 20 cm.

Breadth of rectangle is 12 cm.

Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth

 \longrightarrow Area = 20 × 12

 \longrightarrow Area = 240

Area of rectangle is 240 cm².

  • If Breadth of rectangle is reduced 8 cm.

Breadth = 12 cm [Reduce 8 cm from it]

So,

 \longrightarrow 12 - 8

 \longrightarrow 4

Breadth of rectangle is 4 cm.

  • Now, Area will same .

According to question :

 \longrightarrow 240 = Length × Breadth

 \longrightarrow 240 = Length × 4

 \longrightarrow 240/4 = Length

 \longrightarrow Length = 60

Therefore,

Length of rectangle is 60 cm.

Answer:

The length of a rectangle is 20 cm

breadth is 12 cm

area = 20 x 12 cm²

        = 240 cm²

Now,

breadth of the rectangle is reduced to 8 cm

let, length be a cm

therefore, area = 8a cm²

                  240 = 8a

                       a = 30

thus, the length of the rectangle is 30 cm
