Let the breadth be x

Length = x + 3

................................................................................................

Step 1: Express perimeter in term of x:

Perimeter = 2 (Length + Breadth)

Perimeter = 2( x + x + 3)

Perimeter = 2(2x + 3)

................................................................................................

Step 2: Find x

Given that perimeter = 60 cm

2(2x + 3) = 60

Divide both sides by 2:

2x + 3 = 30

Take away 3 from both sides:

2x = 27

Divide both sides by 2:

x = 13.5 cm

................................................................................................

Step 3: Find Length and Breadth

Breadth = x = 13.5 cm

Length = x + 3 = 13.5 + 3 = 16.5 cm

................................................................................................

Answer: Length = 16.5 cm and Breadth = 13.5
