Answer:

length=3X

bredth=X

perimeter=48m

Perimeter of rectangle=2(l+b)

2(3X+X)=48

2(4X)=48

8X=48

X=48/8

x=6

breadth=6m

length=3(6)=18m

SOLUTION:-

Given:

•The length of a rectangle is 3 times its breadth.

•If the perimeter of the rectangle is 48m

To find:

The Length & Breadth of the rectangle.

Explanation:

Let the breadth of a rectangle be R m

&

The length of a rectangle is 3R.

According to the question:

We know that, perimeter of rectangle;

=) 2(l+b)

Therefore,

=) 2(3R + R) = 48m

=) 2(4R)= 48

=) 8R = 48

=) R= 48/8

=) R= 6m

So,

The length of the rectangle is 3R= 3×6

=) 18m

The Breadth of the rectangle is R= 6m.
