Heya...
Here is your answer ----

Let the width be x metres

Then, length = 3x

=> Perimeter of rectangle = 2 × (l+b)

= 2 × (x+3x)

= 2 × 4x

= 8x

=> 8x = 96

=> x = 96/8

=> x = 12

Width = 12 metres
Length = 36 metres

=> Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth

= (12×36) m^2

= 432 sq. metres

As given in the question,
length of rectangle = is 3 times its width

let the length be x.
therefore , breadth = 3x

formula of perimeter of a rectangle = 2( l+b)

now , according to the above calculations,
= 2( l+ b)
= 2(x+ 3x)
= 2x 4x
= 8x

now according to QUESTION,
8x = 96
therefore , x= 12

now length = 16 and breadth = 3x12= 36.

therefore area of a rectangle,
length x breath
= 16 x 36
= 432 m² .

Hope this helps you:)
