The length of a rectangle is 3cm more than the breadth. If the perimeter is 22cm. Find length and breadth?

rawanikunal2011: 2×(x+3+x)
rawanikunal2011: 2×(x+3+x)=22
rawanikunal2011: 2x+6=22
rawanikunal2011: sorry
rawanikunal2011: 4x+6=22
rawanikunal2011: 4x=16
rawanikunal2011: x= 16/4= 4
rawanikunal2011: so b= 4cm
rawanikunal2011: and given
rawanikunal2011: l is 3 greater than b

Here is your answer

Let breadth be x
So, Length = x + 3

As we know the formula,

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

22 = 2(x + 3 + x) \\  \\  \frac{22}{2}  = 2x + 3 \\  \\ 11 = 2x + 3 \\  \\ 2x = 11 - 3 \\  \\ 2x = 8 \\  \\ x =  \frac{8}{2}  \\  \\ x = 4
Therefore,

Breadth = 4cm

Length = 4 + 3

= 7cm

Here's your Answer..

Let the Breadth of the rectangle be x cm.

=> Length = (3 + x) cm

Now,

PERIMETER of RECTANGLE = 2( l + b)

=> 22 = 2 ( 3 + x + x)

=> 22/2 = 3 + 2x

=> 11 = 3 + 2x

=> 2x = 8

=> x = 4cm.

Now,

Breadth = 4cm

And Length = 3 + 4 = 7cm.
