Perimeter = Sum of all sides ( Valid for every figure )

Perimeter = 2 ( length + breadth ) [ Valid only for rectangle ]

Perimeter = 4 × Length of one side ( Valid only for square )

Main Solution :-

Given,

The figure is a rectangle.

From the given figure, we can see that :-

Length of the rectangle = 6x + y, and

Breadth of the rectangle = 3x - 2y

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2 ( length + breadth )

Substituting the values. we get : -

Perimeter = 2 ( 6x + y + 3x - 2y )

Add this expression by bringing like terms together ( present inside the bracket )

We get :-

Perimeter = 2 ( 9x - y )

Now, we will open the brackets .

We get : -

Perimeter = 18x - 2y ( Ans )
