Using pythagoras rule,

√(diagonal² - length²) = breadth

b = √(5² - 4² ) = √(25 - 16) = √9 = 3 cm

Answer :

  • Breadth of rectangle is 3cm

Given :

  • The length of a rectangle is 4cm
  • Each of its diagonal measures 5cm

To find :

  • Breadth of rectangle

Solution :

  • Let the breadth of rectangle be x

Given ,

  • Length of rectangle is 4cm
  • Length of Diagonal is 5cm

Firstly we have to use Pythagoras theorem then we will find the breadth of rectangle

》 (5)² = (4)² + x²

》25 + 16 + x²

》x² = 25 - 16

》x² = 9

》x = √9

》x = 3cm

Hence , Breadth of rectangle is 3cm
