Answer:

let width be X and length be X+4

perimeter is 56 so

2(length + width) = perimeter i.e 56

2[X+(X+4)}= 56

4X+8= 56

4X= 48

X = 12

SO WIDTH IS 12 THEN LENGTH IS 12+4 = 16

Answer:

width=11.5inches and length=15.5 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

let width be x then length would be x+4

we know,

perimeter of a rectangle=2(l+b)

so,

54=2(x+4+x)

54=2x+8+2x

54-8=4x

x=46/4=11.5

hence,width=x=11.5 inches

and,length=x+4=11.5+4 inches=15.5inches
