Answer:

=> Question:

  • The length of a rectangle is 4 times its width . If the area is 100 square meter,what is the length.

Let The Length of rectangle= l

And Breadth of rectangle = b

=> Given:

  • Length of rectangle = 4(breadth) = 4b.
  • Area of rectangle = 100m^2.

=> Solution:

We know that, area of rectangle is= (length)(breadth).

l \times b = 100m {}^{2}  \\ 4b \times b = 100...........(l = 4b) \\ 4b {}^{2}  = 100 \\ b =  \frac{100}{4}  \\ b {}^{2}  = 25 \\ b =  \sqrt{25}  \\ b = 5m \\  \\

Then, breadth of rectangle is 5m.

And, length will be

l = 4b \\ l = 4(5)m \\ l = 20m

Hence, Length of rectangle is 20m.

{\huge{\bold{\purple{\bigstar{\boxed{\boxed{\bf{Question}}}}}}}}

let the width be x

let the length be 4x

Given :-

  • area of Rectangle = 100 meter square
  • length = 4x
  • breadth = x

To find :-

  • length = ????

solution:-

{\bold{\blue{\boxed{\bf{area\:of\:rect.= length\times breadth}}}}}

x * 4x = 100

4x^2 = 100

x^2 = 100/4

x^2 = 25

x= √25

x= 5

breadth= x = 5cm

length = 4x = 4*5 = 20cm
