Answer:

1650 m sq.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the breadth of the rectangle be x

so,  length=2x-5

a/c to question

new length, a=(2x-5)-3=2x-5-3=2x-8

new breadth,b=x+2

perimeter=2(length+breadth)=2[(2x-8)+(x+2)]

since, Perimeter is 72 cm

so, 2(2x-8+x+2)=72

=> 2(x-6)=72

=>x-6=36

=>x=30

now,

Original length=2x-5=2*30-5=55

Original breadth=x=30

hence,

Area of original rectangle is =length*breadth=30*55=1650 m sq.
