Step-by-step explanation:

let original breadth of rectangle be x

then,original length=2x-5

(given in question)

after changing length and breadth

length=(2x-5)-3

breadth=x+2

perimeter =2×(l+b)=72 given

2×((2x-8)+(x+2))=72

2×(2x-8+x+2)=72

2×(3x-6)=72

6x-12=72

x=84/6=14

actual value of original length and breadth

l=2x-5=2×14-5

=23

b=x=14

original area of rectangle

=length ×breadth

23×14=322
