Answer:

let breadth=x

length=x+5

2(l + b) \\ 2(x + 5 + x) = 38 \\ 2(2x + 5) = 38 \\ 4x + 10 = 38 \\ 4x = 28 \\ x = 7 \\ breadth = 7 \\ length =  7 + 5 = 12 \\  area = l \times b \\ 12 \times 7 \\ 84cm {}^{2}

QUESTION:-

The length of a rectangle is 5cm more than its breadth . if perimeter the rectangle is 38cm, find its area

SOLUTION:-

Let the breadth of the rectangle be x cm

Then , the length = (x+5)cm

Given : perimeter = 38cm

2(length + breadth) = 38cm

2(x+5+x) = 38

4x + 10 = 38

4x = 38 - 10 = 28

x =  \frac{28}{4}  = 7

Thus , the breadth = 7cm and length = (7 + 5)cm = 12cm

Area of rectangle = length × breadth = 12cm × 7cm = 84cm²

HENCE THE AREA OF THE RECTANGLE IS 84cm²
