let \:  \:  \: lenght \:  \:  \: be \:  \: x \\  \\ nd \\  \\ breadth \:  \:  \: be \:  \: y \\  \\ hence \\  \\ x = y + 5 \\  \\ p = 2(x + y) \\  \\ 50 = 2(y + 5 + y) \\  \\  \frac{50}{2}  = 2y + 5 \\  \\ 25 = 2y + 5 \\  \\ 25 - 5 = 2y \\  \\ 20 = 2y \\  \\  \frac{20}{2}  = y \\  \\ 10 = y \\  \\ hence \\  \\ breath = 10cm \\  \\ length = 10 + 5 = 15cm

\underline{\bigstar{\sf\ Given:-}}

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 50 cm
  • Length of rectangle is 5 cm more than breadth.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

\underline{\bigstar{\sf\ To\:Find:-}}

  • Area of rectangle

\underline{\bigstar{\sf\ Solution:-}}

Let the breadth of rectangle be x.

Length of rectangle = x + 5

Perimeter of rectangle = 50 cm

2 (L + B) = 50

2 (x + x + 5) = 50

2 (2x + 5) = 50

4x + 10 = 50

4x = 50 - 10

4x = 40

x =  \frac {40}{4}

x = 10

Length of rectangle = 10 + 5 = 15 cm

Breadth of rectangle = 10 cm

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Therefore,

Area of rectangle = L × B = 10 × 15

= 150 cm²
