GIVEN :-

  • Length of a rectangle is 6 m more than the breadth.
  • Perimeter of rectangle = 120 m.

TO FIND :-

  • The dimensions of the rectangle.

SOLUTION :-

Let the breath of the rectangle be "x". So the length of the rectangle be "(x + 6)m".

As we know that the perimeter of a rectangle is given by,

➠ Perimeter = 2(Length + Breadth)

➠ 120 m = 2(x + 6 + x)

➠ 120 = 2(2x + 6)

➠ 120 = 4x + 12

➠ 4x = 120 - 12

➠ 4x = 108

➠ x = 108/4

➠ x = 27

Now, The dimensions of the rectangle are :-

➸ Length = (x + 6)m

➸ Length = 27 + 6 m

➸ Length = 33 m.

Similarly,

➸ Breadth = x m

➸ Breadth = 27 m.

Hence the dimensions of the rectangle are 33 × 27 m.
