Step-by-step explanation:

l=b+8

perimete=4b+16=80

4b=80-16

4b=64

b=64/4

b=16

l=b+8

=16+8

=24

Given:-

  • The length of a rectangle is 8cm more than the breadth

  • The perimeter of the rectangle is 80cm

To find:-

  • The area of the rectangle

Solution & explanation:-

Let assume the breadth(W) of rectangle is x,

Then, length (L) become x + 8

perimeter of rectangle(P) = 2(L + w)

P = 80cm

L = x + 8

W = x

⇒80 = 2(x + x + 8)

⇒80 = 2x + 8

⇒40 = 2x

⇒x = 40 / 2

⇒x = 20

Hence by putting value of x

Length of rectangle is "x + 8 = 20 + 8 = 28cm"

Breadth of rectangle is "x = 20cm"
