Given:-

  • The length of a rectangle is 8cm more than it's breadth. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 64cm.

To Find:-

  • Length ,l and Breadth ,b

Solution:-

Let the breadth of rectangle be x

So, the length of rectangle = x+8......(i)

And , we know that the perimeter of rectangle

• P = 2(l +b)

Substitute the value we get

→ 64 = 2(x + 8 +x)

→ 2 (x + 8 +x) = 64

→ x + 8 +x = 64/2

→ 2x + 8 = 32

→ 2x = 32-8

→ 2x = 24

→ x = 24/2

→ x = 12cm

Put the value of x in Equation (i) we get

→ x + 8 = 12+ 8 = 20

Therefore, the length of the rectangle is 20cm and the breadth of rectangle is 12 cm.

Solution

Given,

  • the length of a rectangle is 8 cm more than its breadth .
  • the perimeter of the rectangle is 64 .

To find ,

  • we have to find here its length and breadth .

We know that ;

to find the perimeter of rectangle ;

2( length + breadth )

now putting the value in the formula we get ;

 \bold{ =  > 64 = 2(x + 8 + x)}

 =  >  \frac{64}{2}  = x + 8 + x

 =  > 32 = x + x + 8

 =  > 32 = 2x + 8

 =  > 32 - 8 = 2x

 =  > 24 = 2x

 =  > x =  \frac{24}{2}

  \bold{=  > x = 12}

So, the breadth is 12 cm .

Now ,

The length = "X+8" = "12+8" = 20 .

The length is 20cm and breadth is 12 cm .
