Let breath of the rectangle be 'b'.
Then , length = b+1 ..... since , given length is 1 meter more than breadth .
Area = lb
3 = b(b+1)
3= b^2+b
b^2 +b -3=0
By solving the equation , you will get b=+ -1+ √13)/2 or( -1-√13)/2
And length = -√13/2 or + √13/2
