Answer:

l = 2b

2(l+b) = perimeter

2(l+2l) =120

6l= 120

l= 20

b = 10

area = l×b

area = 20x10= 200unit square

In context to question asked,

We have to determine the area of rectangle.

As per question,

We have,

The length of a rectangle is double the breadth The perimeter of the rectangle is 120cm

Let the length of rectangle = l

Breadth of rectangle = b

And, l = 2b,

So, perimeter of rectangle will be =2(l+b)

So, from question,

We will get,

2(l+b) = 120\\=>2(2b+b) = 120\\=>6b = 120\\=>b = \frac{120}{6} = 20\:cm

Hence, length of rectangle will be 2b = 2\times 20 = 40\:cm

So, area of rectangle will be = lb = 20 \times 40 = 800\:cm^2
