let breadth be x cm
therefore length = x + 18 cm
(x + 6)(x + 18 + 6) = (x)(x+18) + 168
(x + 6)(x + 24) = x² + 18x +168
x² + 6x + 24x + 144 = x² + 18x + 168
x² + 30x + 144 = x² + 18x + 168
12x = 24
x = 2
x + 18 = 20
therefore the length is 20 cm and the breadth is 2 cm.
