the length of a rectangle is increased by 10%,where as its breadth is decreased by 10%. what is the consequent percentage change in the area of the rectangle?

z = k {x}^{m}  {y}^{n} ....... \\ where \\ k \: m \: n \: are \: constant. \\  \\ then \:  \\ \%change \: in \: z \:  = m(\%change \: in \: x) + n(\%change \: in \: y) \\  \\ here :  \\  \\ area \: of \: rectangle \:  =  {l}^{1}  {b}^{1}  \\  \\ therefore \\ \%change \: in \: area \:  = 1 \times 10\% + 1 \times 10\% \\  \\  = 20\%
