Answer:

200 sq. cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the width is X cm then the length will be 2X.

Perimeter = 2( l + b)

or, 60 cm = 2(2X+X)

or, 6X = 60 cm

or, X = 60/6 = 10

So the length = 2x10 = 20cm and width = 10 cm.

Now the area of rectangle = length X width

or, 20 cm X 10 cm

or, 200 sq. cm

Given :-

  • the length of a rectange is 2 times than it breadth
  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 60cm

 \\

To Find :-

  • Area of Rectangle

 \\

Solution :-

⟾ Let the Breadth of Rectangle be x

⟾ Then Length of Rectangle will be 2x

According to the Question :

➞ Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 ( L + B )

➞ 60 = 2 ( 2x + x )

➞ 60 / 2 = 2x + x

➞ 30 = 2x + x

➞ 30 = 3x

➞ 30 / 3 = x

➞ 10 = x

________________

Therefore :

  • Length = 2x = 2 × 10 = 20cm
  • Breadth = x = 10cm

________________

⟹ Area of Rectangle = Length × Breadth

⟹ Area of Rectangle = 20 × 10

⟹ Area of Rectangle = 200cm²

Thus Area of Rectangle is 200cm²

Additional Info :

Formulas Related to Rectangle:

  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 2( l + b)
  • Area = Length × Breadth
  • Length = Area / Breadth
  • Breadth = Area / Length
  • Diagonal = √(l)² + (b)²
