Let the breadth be x meters

So, the length be 3x meters

According to Question,

Perimeter of rectangular field = 168m

2(length + breadth) = 168 m

⇒ 2(3x + x) = 168

⇒ 4x = 168 / 2

⇒ 4x = 84

⇒ x = 84 / 4

⇒ x = 21

Required Measurements »

Breadth = x = 21 m

Length = 3x = 3(21) = 63 m

Hence, the length and the breadth of the rectangle are 62 meters and 21 meters respectively.

Breadth = x

Length = 3x

2(x + 3x) = 168

8x = 168

x  = 168/4 = 21

Breadth = 21m

Length = 21x 3 = 63m
