Given information :

✴The length of the rectangular field exceeds the breadth by 5 m.

✴The perimeter of the field is 142 m .

Solution :

Let the breadth of the rectangular field be 'b'

According to the given information , the length(l) is (b+5)

Perimeter of the rectangular field =142 m

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

2(b+5+b) = 142 m

2(2b+5) = 142

2b+5 =142/2

2b + 5 = 71

2b = 71-5

2b = 66

b= 66/2

b= 33

Breadth (b) = 33m

Length (l) = b +5 = 33+5 = 38 m
