The length of a rectangular field is 3cm more than twice its breadth. If its perimeter is 42cm, find its length, breadth and area​

Answer:

let the breadth of rectangle be2x

then the length of rectangle be (3+2x)

now perimeter of rectangle =2 (l+b)

42=2 (3+2x+2x)

42=2 (3+4x)

42=6+8x

42-6=8x=x=4.5cm

hence,length =3+2×4.5=12 cm

breadth =2×4.5=9cm

now,area of rectangle =l×b=12×9=108cm2
