The length of rectangular field is 120 m and breadth of rectangular field is 20 m

Solution:

Let "a" be the length of rectangular field

Let "b" be the breadth of rectangular field

The length of a rectangular field is 6 times its breadth

Length = 6 ( breadth )

a = 6b ----- eqn 1

The perimeter of the field is 280 m

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(length + breadth )

Therefore,

280 = 2(a + b)\\\\280 = 2(6b + b)\\\\140 = 7b\\\\b = 20

Substitute b = 20 in eqn 1

a = 6(20)

a = 120

Thus length of rectangular field is 120 m and breadth of rectangular field is 20 m
