Let the breadth = x

Length = 2x-8

Perimeter = 2×(l+b)

= 2×(x+2x-8)

= 2×(3x-8)

According to problem

2×(3x-8)=56

3x-8= \cancel\dfrac{56}{2}

3x-8=28

3x=28+8

3x=36

x=\cancel\dfrac{36}{3}

\thereforeBreadth= x=12m

\thereforeLength= 2x-8=2×12-8=24-8=16m
