The dimensions of the garden are 23.59 m × 11.59 m

Given data :

Width +12m = Length

Perimeter × 4 = Area

Let, the width = x

So, length = x+12

Perimeter = {2×(x+x+12)}= 4x+24m

Area = {x × (x+12)} = x²+12x m²

According to the given data ;

4× (4x+24) = x²+12x

16x+96 = x²+12x

x²+12x = 16x+96

x²-4x = 96

x²-(2×x×2)+4 = 96-4

(x-2)² = 92

x-2 = 9.59

x = 11.59

Width =11.59m (answer)

Length = (12+11.59) = 23.59m (answer)
