let us assume that the breadth of hall is 'b' m

According to the question,
the length of hall = (b+5)m

Because,
Perimeter = 2(length + breadth)
⇒        74  = 2( (b+5) + b)
⇒        37  =  2b + 5
⇒        2b =  32
⇒          b = 16 (ans.)
