let breath of rectangular hall = x

so length of rectangular hall = x + 5

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( length + breath)

⇒ 74 = 2 ( (x + 5)  + x)           [ given perimeter = 74]

⇒ 74 = 2( 2x + 5 )

⇒ 74 = 4x + 10

⇒ 4x = 64

⇒ x = 64/4 = 16

and x + 5 = 16 + 5 = 21

so length of rectangular hall is 21 meter and breath of rectangular hall is 16 meter
