Let the length of rectangle be x

breadth=x-17

we know that

perimeter of rectangle = 2 (lenght +breadth )

178=2 (x+x-17)

89=2x-17

2x=106

x=53m

lenght =53m

breadth =53-17=36m

Let breadth be x
Then length =17+x
We know,
Perimeter=2(l+b)
178=2(17+x+x)
178/2=17+2x
89=17+2x
89-17=2x
72=2x
X=72/2
X=36

breadth=x=36
and
Length=17+x=17+36=53 answer
