Let us asume that the Breadth of the rectangular plot be X Mtrs., Then the length of the plot will be (X + 5) Mtrs.

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(L + B)

2{X + (X + 5)} = 142

2{2X + 5} = 142

4X + 10 = 142

4X = 142 - 10 = 132

X = 132/4 = 33 Mtrs.

Since breadth of the plot is 33 Mtrs, the the length will be (X + 5) = 33 + 5 = 38 Mtrs.

Ans: 38 Mtrs. and 33 Mtrs.

dimensions breath=33m and length=38m

let breadth be x
length =5+x
perimeter =2(l+b)
2(x+5+x)=142
2(2x+5)=142
4x+10=142
4x=142-10
4x=132
x=132/4
x=33

thus breadth =33
length=33+5=38
