Let the breadth of the rectangular plot be = x

Therefore, according to your question, the length will be = 3x

Given that the width of the path = 5 m

And, the area of the path = 500 m^{2}

We can write that :-

Area of the path = l × b

Where, l = x

And, b = 5 m

=》 Area = 5 × x

=》 500 = 5x

=》 \tt{x = 100 m}

Now, 3x = 3 × 100 m

=》 3x = 300 m

The perimeter will be = 100 m + 300 m

=》 \boxed{\tt{Perimeter = 400 m}}
