Given :

  1. Length ( l ) = 1 + 3b
  2. Let Breadth ( b ) = b
  3. Perimeter = 66

To find :

Length and Breadth

Solution :

Perimeter = 2 ( l + b )

= 66 = 2 [ ( 1 + 3b ) + b ]

= 66 = ( 2 + 6b ) + ( 2b )

= 66 = 8b + 2

= 8b = 66 - 2

= 8b = 64

= b = 64 / 8

= b = 8

So, Breadth = 8 cm

So, Breadth = 8 cmLength = 1 + 3b = 1 + 3 × 8 = 1 + 24 = 25 cm.

Verification :

Perimeter = 2 ( l + b )

= 66 = 2 ( 25 + 8 )

= 66 = ( 50 + 16 )

= 66 = 66

Hence, Verified.
